The 2014–15 Golden State Warriors season was the 69th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association, and their 53rd in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Warriors finished the season 67–15, a new franchise best for number of wins as well as clinching the best record in the Basketball for the first time since 1976. They are also the 10th Basketball team to win as many as 67 games in a season.
With their win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 23, the team improved to 10–2, the best start in franchise history. They would finish the same road trip in Detroit with a perfect 5–0 record, their second perfect road trip in franchise history, and first since 1978. On December 10, the Warriors continued adding to history; their win over the Houston Rockets marked their 14th straight, setting a new franchise record for longest win streak. This record was extended to 16 straight wins, before a road loss to Memphis on December 16.
On January 21, the team established a new franchise record of 17 straight home wins with a win over Houston; they were able to extend this record to 19 straight home wins before losing to Chicago on January 27. With their win against Portland on March 24, they clinched the Pacific Division for the first time since the 1975–76 season, also tying the franchise record for road wins in a season with 24 and finishing with a road record of 28–13. On March 28, the Warriors won their 60th game; in doing so, they both clinched the best record in the Western Conference and set a franchise record for regular season wins (the 1975–76 Warriors had won 59). On April 15, 2015, the Warriors defeated the Denver Nuggets 133–126, to finish the regular season with a record of 67–15.
Numerous Warriors set individual records over the course of the 2014–15 Basketball season. On January 23, 2015, Klay Thompson broke the Basketball record for most points scored in a quarter with 37; he finished the game with 52 points (a career high). On April 15, head coach Steve Kerr won his 63rd game with the Warriors; in doing so, he broke the Basketball record for most wins by a rookie head coach (he would finish with 67 wins). Five days later, Stephen Curry broke the single–player record for most three pointers made in a season by making eight such shots against the Portland Trail Blazers. This left him with 276 three–pointers, which eclipsed the prior record of 272 (set by Curry himself in 2012–13). Curry would finish the 2014–15 regular season with 286. Lastly, Curry and Thompson (the so–called "Splash Brothers") broke the single-season record for most three–pointers made by a pair of teammates. Together, they sank some 525 three–pointers over the course of the season. This obliterated the prior Basketball record of 484 (set by themselves in 2013–2014).
In the 2015 Basketball Finals, the Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 4–2, to win their first title in 40 years, and the 4th championship in franchise history.
